staging area3

With the temperature reaching as low as -35 degrees Celsius overnight. Everyone was a little nervous on the turn for Saturdays very popular snowmobile poker rally and Sundays snowmobile drag race. Well even with the cold weather we were happy to see a great turn out from the diehard riders and families.

The snowmobile club had sold 468 hands on saturday for the poker rally.

For the snowmobile drag race there were 205 entries and 141 races run.

On Monday they had a respectable turn out for the ATV Poker Rally with a 184 machines and over 400 hands sold.

Over all it was a great weekend in Alberta Beach.

Here are a few photos from Poker Rally registration.

On Wednesday the media was invited to have a little competition against each other while checking out the newest feature at the Alberta Beach Sno Mo Days family day weekend. The contest was to drive a electric scooter through the ice maze without hitting the sides (Every hit was time docked) they could earn time back by donating food to the food bank and going down the ice slide on the crazy carpet. It was a spirited afair with the competitive spirit coming out in everyone.

Ecko Marine has been involved with 2 major fundraisers this winter. In December Ecko and East Side Marios in Spruce Grove teamed up to raffle off a DS 90 to raise money for Breast Cancer research. The draw was made at East Side Marios on Dec 23 just in time to make a great Christmas gift and over $3000 were raised for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

In January Aerials Gymnastics raffled off a Sea-Doo Challenger Boat and a Can-Am Outlander ATV.

Congratulations to all of the lucky winners!

The Summit E-TEC 800 is the machine to own!

The feedback from our customers and the media reviews, it’s all the same, the Summit 800 E-TEC is the machine to beat! And the crazy thing is most machines haven’t even been broken in yet.

From The Magazines we’ve seen raving reviews. I found these reviews from snowmobile magazines at the Elevation blog.

SnowTech Magazine:

On the Rotax E-TEC 800R:

The new 800 E-TEC motor is the most technologically advanced engine the snowmobile industry has ever seen to date.  It offers a smooth power curve with great top end pull making it easy to ride.

The throttle response is excellent and peak horsepower is great.  We also really like the extremely light throttle pull, and the running quality is amazing.

It starts so easy, no matter what!  Cold, hot, upside down…it doesn’t matter, it starts easy.

It usually burns about 2 to 3 gallons less fuel than the other sleds we ride with, and the fuel consumption is always better than the competition.

Instead of haing to pack an extra 2.5 gallon fuel can on the back to enjoy a full day of riding, you will be able to do so on the main tank.

Conclusion:

About the only problem [with the Summit] is riders don’t know how good it is.  They don’t understand the changes because the chassis still looks the same on the surface…It takes riding one to really understand how much better the 2011 is.

It makes such a difference that the Ski-Doo SUmmit shoudl get the award for the most improved in 2011.

Snowmobile.com:

In their full review of Summits with E-TEC 800R raved about the improvements for 2011:

As mentioned, the Snowmobile.com Mountain Team purports the 2011 800R E-TEC-powered Summit X and Summit Everest to be the most improved mountain snowmobiles for 2011. The Summit does indeed fulfill what Ski-Doo communicates in its literature: easy to sidehill and light in the trees. At the 2011 test evaluations, we completed maneuvers on the 2011 XP Summit that we could not complete on three-previous year’s XP Summits – wrong-foot forward downhill sidehilling with a 180-degree turn to ascend back up the hill.

The new 800 E-TEC is easy to start and is steady throughout its powerband.

With the new E-Tec 163.9 HP and the new handling and chassis changes the Ski-Doo Summit is hard to beat. If you are looking for a price point Summit that matches up with Polaris in horsepower and price, Ski-Doo has some great rebates on the 800R Summit SP available right now.
